New projects completed
Spring
has sprung and CFX has been busy, with several new
projects recently completed. These new projects
include:
EDI
Distributors enters the eCommerce arena
EDI Distributors was incorporated in 1994 as a distributor
of high pressure pumps, parts, and accessories. They
had an existing website and wanted to update not only
the look, but also to add e-commerce capabilities
as well. Using Miva Merchant, CFX was able to provide
our client with a robust shopping cart solution with
maximum flexibility for adding new products and maintaining
the site themselves.
With a redesign that gives their corporate image new
vigor and new e-commerce capability, CFX helped EDI
bring their online presence to the forefront of their
industry.

OnCalls hits the ground running with a new Corporate
Identity
OnCalls is a scheduling system which helps keep
track of doctors on call at a particular hospital
or clinic at any given time.
Having just developed a new version of their system,
the officers at OnCalls wanted to give their corporate
identity and home page an overhaul.
OnCalls wanted their new identity to grasp the overall
concept of their service, while not binding it specifically
to the medical profession, as they have plans to extend
their offerings to other industries in the future.
By focusing on the time-management aspect rather than
the medical side, we allowed the creation of a versatile
logo and identity system.

CFX Creative in the spotlight
CFX
project to be featured in "Great Web Site Makeovers"
One of our recently-launched website projects, EDI
Distributors, has been chosen for inclusion
in the upcoming book tentatively titled "Great
Web Site Makeovers", scheduled for publication
this fall.
The case study will include information on how and
why the approach taken was chosen as the appropriate
method for the client, technical information and
methodology.
New EDI Distributors site chosen as a Feature
Site by Miva
The EDI Distributors website has also been chosen
by the Miva Corporation as a Feature Site to be
included in the Miva
Galleria. The Galleria includes sites
which represent exceptional presentation and use
of their Miva Merchant eCommerce product. The Feature
Site article is scheduled to appear within the coming
weeks. CFX is delighted to note that this nomination
represents the second Feature Site our work has
been awarded.

CFX Creative / Core 77 Industry Snapshot
 |
CFX
has teamed up with the Core
77 Design Network and LaSalle
Communications to conduct a primary research
study focused on the business of design. The study
will explore the demographics of design professionals,
client characteristics, growth strategies and best
business practices.
CFX wanted more insight into how design firms and
professionals are faring in the recessionary economy,
what approaches they use to find new business, how
they keep up with current technology and which services
are in highest demand. With very little comprehensive
information available on the subject, CFX Creative
Principal Carly H. Franklin approached Core 77 with
the idea of conducting a research study which would
answer these questions and provide valuable information
to peers in the design community.
Those who participate will receive a free copy of
the full research report. Others will have the opportunity
to purchase the results for a nominal fee. The study
is scheduled to launch on May 7, 2002 with the full
results becoming available in July 2002. The research
methodology design and analysis is being executed
by Kim LaSalle, principal of LaSalle Communications.
